I know I am going to run for cover after my post.

I see the abortion issue as more than one sided. I do not look at having an abortion as killing a baby. jmo However, I sincerely feel late term abortion should have limits. The issue to me and I think of many is that the RIGHT to have an abortion should be a private matter. The SCOTUS has already ruled abortion to be legal so I see no need to continue to fight about abortion. I think nobody should be judged negatively because of their personal thoughts on abortion.

Now this a much larger problem for me concerning abortion. If men stopped having sex with women would there be a need for abortion? There is never talk about stopping men from making deposits of biological material. This is where the talks should begin. Now how many men would agree to stop making the deposits by not performing the procedure to obtain a supply of biological material.

OK, I am a female and it just seems to me MEN get a free ride on any conversations or debates about sex and procreation.

This post is just my opinion.

I think abortion is between the woman , God , & the doctor. But it should not be used for birth control. jmo.

What I am saying is no democrat is going to put anyone on the Supreme Court if they are not sure she is for abortion. They will not take a chance that Roe V Wade will be overturned.

When Pres. Obama talked to her for 8 hrs. before her nomination trust me he didn't just talk about how she saved baseball.

You just summed up the views of around 80 percent of the population, and my own view as well. However, I do not feed the federal government has any right to make these decisions for us, only the states.

The issue to me and I think of many is that the RIGHT to have an abortion should be a private matter. The SCOTUS has already ruled abortion to be legal so I see no need to continue to fight about abortion. I think nobody should be judged negatively because of their personal thoughts on abortion.

This is not technically correct. It's a common misconception that all abortions are legal. The Supreme Court did not initially rule that way, and future ruling continued to refine the view. The states are given the right to pass laws that restrict abortion post a certain time period baring certain extreme circumstances.

This of course steps over the overall question of whether or not the original ruling was constitutional. Which is why this is still a hot button issue we continue to discuss.

IMHO, because that would clearly be a violation of the two consenting adult's Constitutional rights.

That's one reason I rail against the Tancredo wing. The GOP is all for free trade unless it includes labor that may appeal to an unpopular minority group.

As for SS, the bottom line is it could have been much worse (Wood, Koh, Kagan), and that's my best case scenario. Most on the left are so enamored with her story they miss that they are getting screwed here. She's considered an intellectual lightweight from many that should support her and judicial mediocrity based on her overturns. She's a female Hispanic Souter. She doesn't shift the intellectual or the ideological balance on the Court, and the intellectual firepower remains on the right. I don't believe she'll influence Kennedy, and that's what this boils down to. Confirm her but put up a paper tiger fight. Save your powder boys.

I agree. The only danger to anyone now is political colateral damage to the right from out of control commentary. She could easily be the female Souter from what I have read.

Big Rush today compares her to...David Dukes:shock: . Gordon Liddy (ftlog go away already) announced that he hopes "during key confirmation conferences that she isn't menstruating (yikes:shock:....)

Boys Stoppppp !!....If there are any other older, angry white guys in the building who haven"t spoken up--please leave now!

Rush is selling air time. In fairness, as a juror she wouldn't make it past voir dire if she stated she cannot "transcend [one's] personal sympathies and prejudices and aspire to achieve a greater degree of fairness and integrity based on the reason of law". Likewise, if an "angry older white guy" said that they could make better decisions than a Latina based solely on the aforementioned, he would be hung in a public square without benefit of counsel or clergy.
