So… Unicorn Lovers, check out this manic masterpiece MOONLIGHT SILVER, a “Fantasy Couture Ornament Figurine” created by Nene Thomas. It’s a zebra! It’s a Unicorn! It’s a carousel horse! You know what this stunning symbol of striped beauty says to me? (If you guessed couture, you are right! Actually, it made me kinda confused, but then I dug a little deeper.)
One look at the Nene Thomas website showed me that, firstly, 0206058 people had found her magical realm of fairies, unicorns, and victory before I happened upon her. Sadly, most of the products on her site are sold out! Her seasonal and sensational Wall Plaques are not available. The birch and maple themes make me wonder if this artist is after my wintery Canadian heart. Plus, eagles and horses and fairies and castles and wolves! Maximum Princess!
But do not despair my darlings! I’m always amazed to find these successful, niche artists… I joke, and then part of me is really encouraged. It’s hard being hilarious and sincere at the same time. Nene Thomas proves you can make a living playing ponies and fairies and moonlight and magic. And that RULES.
Now. Nene is not keeping all of her genius behind shop doors – she has released a number of chapters of her book The Zarryiostrom on her site as well. (Visit count: 37457 at the time of writing.) A prologue, 12 Chapters and some sample art are there for your reading pleasure. The author describes her book:

“The Zarryiostrom” is a sweeping fantasy epic about four kingdoms: warlike Dakkadia, wealthy Illymar, vast Ferralin, and the prize of prizes, the anarchic Badlands.

I’m not the only one checking her out. Since I began writing this post, 8 10 others have found a world mystery and shiny pretty fairies and free fantasy fiction.
