Thank you thank you thank you OL for bringing back this thread. I've never gained so much over a summer as this one - its usually winter time padding. OMG. I meant to lose 10, but it went the other way.

I was curious and deep down really hoping this thread would catch fire again.
Here is a quick little health and fitness quiz. Take a real good look at the labels below. I am going to try and post pictures so I apologize if I butcher the attempt.

Now answer the following questions.
1. Should either product be included in a health and fitness program?
2. Which is actually marketed as a 'weight loss' shake?
3. Is either label a chocolate Yoo-Hoo?
4. Is either label a chocolate slim fast?
The answers may surprise you.
1. No, although reasonable in calories far too much sugar.
2. B is that of a very popular weight loss shake.
3. Yes, Label A is Yoo Hoo.
4. Yes, Label B is Chocolate Slim Fast.
Pretty scary stuff huh? Just goes to show you how deceptive labels and their manufactures can be.
If the goal is fat loss and a speedy metabolism then you have to watch the sugar intake. Sugar is hidden in all types of creative ways so keep an eye out for it when consuming health drinks and smoothies.
Keep in mind that the majority of health drinks marketed as such is nothing more than sugar and milk and ironically, chocolate Yoo-hoo is healthier for you than Slim Fast.
Also when making/ordering your smoothies be sure that your getting real fruit instead of syrup and take into account extra sugar grams when using milk as well.
BEWARE the label deceptors and use your fitness sense to lead you in the right direction. If it tastes way too yummy you may need to find out exactly what went into the making of it.
