I haven't tried the yogurt with granola sundaes yet (I hear it's nice to layer it like a sundae) but just today decided I would add that to my diet because I'm not a big milk drinker (though I love cheese). I've heard the new probiotic yogurts by Dannon are great so I'll see if they have a vanilla yogurt.
Frankly, now that I've made the exercise/diet changes, I'm hoping it's a lifestyle/health change and it really doesn't seem that hard anymore (and I'm really going to try harder to like the training with the trainer -- I like her so much). I eat light during the day and have a very nice dinner, including wine. The differences is I eat just a regular portion of the meat/fish/poultry/pasta/whatever and then lots and lots of vegetables followed by fruit. I always feel very full when I finish dinner and then usually don't snack before bed. So, I think honest portion control is part of my new diet (so it really isn't a diet in the "lose weight" sort of way. It's more of a diet in the "eat healthier and use portion control" sort of way. I have a feeling I was eating much more than I thought I was (e.g., lots of second servings). I also cook up things like salmon patties and leave them in the fridge cooked so I have them for lunch on a wrap with lots of vegetables.
I think I was just so busy for the past decade with young children and a full-time job that I put everyone else first. But Oprah Magazine (my favorite magazine) reminded me to put my health as the number 1 time priority and that's what I did. And so did this thread. It hasn't taken time away from the family, it has taken a tiny bit of time away from work but I'm just more efficient or dropping things that aren't critical (and no one misses them, frankly, so I guess they really weren't critical).
Anyone have any really good healthy recipes?
