Please, someone explain to me why men (well, mostly men) feel the need to spit. They spit on sidewalks where some unsuspecting soul can walk by and take the slide for life. This is just an icky habit. Help me understand.

Wish I knew....I've asked my son "How does one person have that much spit and why can't one just swallow it???" 
One of his friends was over the other day and apparently has started to "chew". Only problem is he doesn't have the spitting down just yet, so he was drooling tobacco. It was disgusting and I told him not attractive to girls...no one wants to kiss that mouth. YUCK! :roll:

DO men feel the need to spit? I don't, unless I swallowed a fly. I will say that everyone I know (boys and girls) feel compelled to spit when standing on a bridge, or on the upper floor of a building.
Well, all I know is that when I notice someone spitting, it is usually a male.
I think girls just don't spit in front of other people, but they do it just as much, if we exclude the male tobacco dippers. It's like my Southern Baptists friends who drink from a coffee cup.

I have a very weak stomach when it comes to spit. Just day before yesterday I was behind a car stopped a red light. This dude opens his door and spits, and spits. I came very, very close to 
. I can't tell you how many times I have walked out of store and looked down on the ground and have seen spit. OMC.....I want to puke everytime. It makes my skin crawl and I think it is the most vile of all things that humans do in public.

I think spitting out gum on the sidewalk, or sticking it to the seat in the movie theater is much worse than spitting.
My Father-in-Law(Irv) and myself do have to take credit for a bad deed long ago. We were sitting out on a patio back in northern MN when my daughter's friend came over to visit. My daughter wasn't done with her chores for the day and so I wouldn't let her come outside until finished.
Anywho, we were sitting out there chatting with this girl who was maybe 11-12 years old when Irv felt compelled to spit over the deck rail into the yard. Don't know why, maybe had swallowed a mosquito. Anyway, this little girl sees this and decides to show us how well she knows how to spit. Her attempt has drool running down her chin and onto her shirt.
Once Irv and I pulled ourselves up from rolling around on the deck laughing, we proceeded to take the next 15 minutes to properly train this sweet little girl how to spit like a man.
I imagine we made her father real proud. Don't speak with the mother much anymore......:funn::funn:
