That reminds me. We were staying at the Royal Sonesta in NOLA. We were having lunch there and noticed a hung-over-looking couple having breakfast at the next table. It was Sting, and I remembered that he had a concert the night before. I whispered to my husband that Sting was at the next table. Our daughter, who was about 5 at the time, said in her loudest voice, "Sting Who?" Sting looked embarrassed. We still tease our daughter about that.

In Munich we stay at the Bayerischer Hof. One evening when we returned from dinner, a large and noisy crowd had gathered outside the hotel. Michael Jackson, who was in town to do an AIDS benefit concert with Pavarotti and others, was staying at our hotel. The crowd got excited because his window opened. As we watched the groupies, out pops Michael, wearing a black surgical-styled mask and waving to the crowd. They went wild! The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, serenaded by chants of "Michael! Michael!"

Is this the same time he held the baby out the window, over the boucany and nearly dropped it?

And did anyone else see this morning's New York Times, with the article about South Walton and its wonderful restaurants? The writer used to vacation there as a child and he fondly remembered the Green Knight (where his folks would buy whiskey) and going to the Gulfarium. Shades of the past.
No, but I just went to the website and found it; thanks so much for mentioning that! I was so excited to see it was written by Julia Reed; she's a good Southern girl who tends to write about Southern things--love her! Thanks again, Donna!

No, but it's the same balcony and hotel - very luxurious. When I saw the videos of him and the baby, I had a real feeling of d?j? vu.

Yikes.

Why did I spell balcony as "boucany?"

I am slowly losing it...

I'm finding it interesting reading about some of your star sightings. Anyone else have stories to share?
Well, in a former life, my husband was a musician, and his band had a video on MTV. We have a copy of the video, and my kids love to drag it out every once in a while and watch it for fun. And my son can't believe my husband actually played CBGB's, so that's kind of a star sighting for him! :lolabove:

Haha! Me too...losing it slowly.

Just saw Kelly Clarkson. She's so amazing. Add her to my list of girl crushes!

I saw Spiderman at least 100 times last Halloween. And I'm not sure but I think I saw Barney too.
