There's so much weather info easily available on the web ... is it really necessary to start a thread about this question?

I don't really blame them. As far back as I can remember weather forecasters on the Emerald coast have smiled and assured tourists that it's nothing but sunshine from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I remember one time living in PCB when it was coming down in buckets and Jason Kelley (sp?) was going on and on about how perfect it was outside right now. The studio was located about 2 miles from my residence at the time.

I remember that 24 hours before Opal hit we were being told it wouldn't affect us and that all was fine.

Remember the weather channel sells advertising and would much rather paint a beautiful picture for the paying customers TDC, resorts, travel agents, etc.

Ahhh, now it's becoming clear to me. Last year while there the weather was crap, the whole week, not one nice day, didn't get to go into the ocean once.... Every day we poured over the Weather Channel while they falsely encouraged us to keep our chins up, it's going to get better....the sun will come out... tomorrrrrrow....and it never did.

Had I been aware of this valuable information then, I'd have gone straight to the package store, bought more liquor and filled my Lorazepam script to replace the sun and beach.
