If you read this thread you will soon realize why most conservatives no longer post on SoWal.

There has always been a real mix in this forum and if anything I would say it leans right in our community. But I do like hearing from all sides and usually learn a lot. I particularly like hearing from people who are "moderate" and willing to not only share their views but encourage others to do so. My thinking is that conservatives are a loss of what to say about their party's predicament at the moment - or at least they are waiting to see how the Donald candidacy plays out (some of my Bama friends love him but wouldn't vote for him for President.. some only want to vote for him). I was disappointed to see Rand Paul leave the race - someone I can respect if not completely agree with. Jeb Bush - nice enough but his ideas are so old - was he frozen in time?

Would love to hear from any Cruz supporters. I don't know that much about him except lots of people (including conservatives) who don't like him.

Oh, I think we're all concerned when one of the major parties is in upheaval. I don't know what born again/evangelical even means but it doesn't sound good.

The people posting in this specific thread are basically split but its hard to really tell as it's more philosophical / humorous discussion offering a little entertainment. This is going to be a long haul. Laughing is probably good.

If Conservatives are not posting it's because they can no longer defend the positions of their leadership. The Republican candidates are not unlike rubber room insane asylum escapees.

@Andy A - I figured it was because they were too embarrassed by their candidates, and/or have no sense of humor.

I would ask you which republican to vote for but I find "the lesser of 17 evils" exercise to be tiring.

I don't...I see no one worthy. The only guy I could lukewarmly get behind is Kasich and he's tainted as well.

Not exactly. If by chance Bernie were to absolutely demolish Hillary in the Primaries, then that might mean he's really strong going into the general election. I doubt this will happen. The thing that scares me about Bernie is that I don't see him getting crossover vote from Republicans. For example, I know a couple who wanted Ben Carson, who of course is out of the picture. They would vote for Hillary over Trump or Cruz. I don't know if they feel the same way about Bernie. I do know that if you use your heart rather than your head, and obsess over petty moral infractions and character flaws, then it's a recipe for disaster. Ask anyone who voted for GWB over Al Gore. Oh wait, that would be Bob, wouldn't it?

Jenksy, let me say this so that even you, with your limited mental capaciy, can understand. Any Republican running would be better than the alternatives offered by the Democrat party. An avowed socialist, who wishes to take from the "earned" and give to the undeserving and a corrupt, candidate who lies at the drop of a hat to further her cause, whatever it may be, do not appeal to me or any other thinking American . They are part of the problem, not the solution to them.

Bill Clinton yes the man who I would vote for in a heartbeat today if he were running and were eligible. So you helped create the mess we're in today by voting for Bush because you felt that Gore was endowed with some sort of evil spiritual energy?

It is time for me to join other intelligent Consevatives, such as 30aShopper, and leave postings here to the misinformed Liberals. So
Wal is a great website for information. I shall now use it for that and leave posting to others who have little understanding of what this country is really all about, most of whom have never put forth any effort to defend or improve it, IMO.
