A close friend of mine and I were having a discussion about the Government taking prayer out of school. He told me that taking prayer of out school is the primary cause of the barrage of school shootings and other acts of violence becaused God is no longer there to protect us. What say you?

If you are believeing, Christ will never leave you or forsake you. Whether you pray or not. Prayer is an answer but not the answer. Believeing (trusting) is the answer.

Thank you for your comment. You've introduced me to a new perspective that I think is very powerful and interesting. Thanks again for your response.

As the saying goes, you can never really take prayer out of public schools as long as there are students taking standardized tests.

However, the proper place for prayer out loud in public schools is in voluntary prayer and bible study groups that meet before or after classes or during lunch period, not during class time.

Why would a school segregate those who do not worship God? Being of one religion, I wouldn't necessarily want to pray to another's deity, daily. That's selfish & narrow-minded of one to expect others to worship the same divine being. Prayer is a personal and private choice. Thankfully, he have these choices offered to us in this country. What a wonderful thing!

I believe you might be on to something there, 2bgundian123. I bet you are right with that thought, just like God doesn't like all the sin in New Orleans, so he sent Hurricane Katrina there. He probably dropped his protection of the land in Florida, and allowed forest fires because they sell liquor here on Sundays before church starts. I bet he also dropped the protection of California from Earthquakes, and forest fires, because they voted to legalize pot smoking. Yes, I definitely think you are on to something there.
