My knowledge of Tammy Faye consisted only of knowing she was famous for her eye make-up and her husband's ministry stealing money until I caught a clip of her on the TV Guide channel several weeks ago. (Apparently she was on the "Real Life" or some similar show that they were promoting).
I was amazed by her accepting attitude - "it wasn't her belief, so she didn't do it, but other people could do what they wanted". Quite a change from the holier-than-thou-attitude, conversion attempts, or condemnations one unfortunately expects from uber religious types when faced w/ starkly different beliefs (the clip I saw had her talking with the porn star Ron Jeremy while he and someone else were drinking early in the day).
She is very brave for appearing to the public in her condition. Sadly she was only 30 pounds from Hollywood's ideal weight for a healthy woman.
