Guess I'm just old fashioned - I blame the parents if a kid is breaking into a house instead of asleep in their bed.

I've been thinking on it and there isn't an excuse my parents would accept as to why I was out all night at that age. :D

Thinking back to my "cunning days,:ninja:" a stunt like that would have taken a whole lot of planning and a whole bunch of lying:lie: to pull it over on 4 or 5 sets of parents.
In the end, someone would probably have forgotten what lies we'd already told and then we'd have been busted by at least one set of parents-- who would have ratted us out to the rest. Then the Sh##t would have hit the fan. Doesn't sound like these kids had to go to a whole lot of trouble to get by with the folks. Sorta sounds like they parents aren't exactly paying attention.

Today's parents have gotten downright lazy and replaced what once was "parental common sense" with their ability to contact their "child" via cellphone.

As long as they call "Madisyn" on her "Ringa-Bling? Sidekick 3," everything is A-OK.

Yikes! I hope a few parents bust a few arses for stupidity. I can foresee some community service with the kids cleaning up around the house or maybe painting or something else they need right in the heat of the day. Maybe they will think twice about visiting that home again.

.

Goes beyond stupidity imo! ..;-)

I don't know if this qualifies as worse, but I was totally distracted by punctuation and grammar errors!

oh I know, I see grammar errors everyday in the paper. When my son was much younger, that's how I knew if he was reading the paper or not, if he could point out the errors I had found earlier in the article.

Didn't any of you all do anything like this when you were growing up? Just curious. I know we sure did. I had great parents but they had no clue what we were up to half the time. Thank god none of us had cell phones! I think most parents would be real surprised if they knew half of what their kids were really up to.

My hand to God...at the age of 15 (or at any other time in my life) I neither commited, nor even thought about, breaking and entering a home. Call me old-fashioned--and in fear of the consequences that would have been dished out by my Dad! :dunno:

Good kids unite...I never dreamed of breaking out of my home, either.

My dad (who had 4 brothers and a sister) used to tell us horror stories about the shenanigans he and his brothers got into. He said that no matter how sneaky they were about it, when they got home my grandmother ALWAYS knew where they had been, and this was way the heck before cell phones. (I'm not sure they had the other type of phone.) :dunno:

I never broke into anyone's home - we only partied in the abandoned ones. And yes, I agree with you, if my son did even half the things my husband and I did as teens, I'd have a stroke.
