Well the snow never really came, just ice! Which does look beautiful on all of the trees, but, then the branches are too heavy, they break, and to make a long story short....450,000 without power! Guess who's one of them :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang: yep me!!!

Why is it that my house always looses power, but work never does :bang::bang:

Oh well, the trees do look pretty.

Well, we are right with you---no power, no heat--came to work to get warm. We also have a huge part of a tree in the middle our pool--I never really liked that expensive stretch cover anyway, but maybe it stopped the tree from cracking the pool. They say it can be days and we all may get to winterize our houses, whatever that entails. All in all, I'd rather be in SOWAL

The temperature has been dropping steadily and the wind is howling like a banshee so it's COLD. It forced me to do the unthinkable today: housework. To warm up, I washed rugs, scrubbed cabinets and floors and more. I think I even broke a sweat. (If you think I'm joking, try industrial cleaning and see how fast you peel the clothes off.) ;-)

This makes three of us. Just got our power back on a little while ago, the cable is back on now, too, though no phone yet. My part of town looks like a bomb went off--all the beautiful, old trees that are down is staggering. We have a friend who lives in Mr. Kitty's old neighborhood, and he'll probably lose every tree in his yard. I took some pics but will load them later. Stay safe and warm, everyone! (lucky and her Mr. are on their way over to spend the night--they still have no power.)

I was beginning to think you all must have lost power last night.
Missouri really got hit hard - - much harder than here. I believe we were just north of the edge of all the freezing rain and then snow that you got.
Stay warm.

Oh pea....that is so sad. I just read your post to Mr. K and he moaned. :sosad: Ice is a real terror to trees and power lines.
