Hope there are some warmer temps around. Like at the beach. It is a very cold 20 here this morning in Memphis. Don't mind it so much just going out to the car to go to work but when the pooch still demands his walk and I am donning a hat, big coat and gloves, well, sometimes that is too much. Especially when my sinuses are a mess. I am sure it is this cold all throughout the midwest and a large part of the southeast, except for the Florida panhandle.

From NWS Mobile:

Statement as of 4:15 AM CST on December 04, 2006

... Hard freeze warning in effect from 11 PM this evening to 7 am CST
Tuesday...

The coldest temperatures seen in nearly 2 years are expected by
early Tuesday... with record breaking lows occurring all the way to
the coast.

Hard freeze... defined as temperatures remaining in or near the middle
20s for several hours... expected Monday night and early Tuesday
across the inland areas north of a line from Wiggins Mississippi...
to Mobile... to Crestview Florida. Sub-freezing temperatures are
expected to extend all the way to the coast early Tuesday morning.

All residents should take time to check on exposed water pipes to
ensure adequate insulation is in place... as well as making plans
for pets and plants indoors. Close automatic irrigation systems...
at the meter if possible... and cycle through every circuit to
ensure the water in the lines and risers is at least partially
cleared. Bring in garden hoses from the outside as any remaining
water in the hoses may cause them to rupture. Ensure vehicles and
stationary engines such as automatic generators have adequate
antifreeze.

Yes, it has Sueshore, even in Florida they are calling for the 20's. It is kind of early for us to have 20 degree lows, way off of our norm. I am sure that is the case a lot of places. About to go out and warm my car before heading to work.

Johnrudy, that is very cold. What I'd expect for that area unfortunately.

I'm looking at this a temporary setback.

I don't mind the snow but when it's in the low single digits, it's just painful.

I don't want to complain tho because those folks in Missouri still don't have their power yet.

Don't hold back, Johnrudy. Someone's always going to be colder than you but that doesn't mean cold ain't cold.

It's cold here but I'll be in SoWal at the end of the month! Focus, Mermaid, Focus....

34 degrees, but feels like 24. Go to eat some snowflakes early this morning, but it only lasted about 15 minutes.
