I am going to try and get a picture of a fabulous field of Indian paintbrush on my way to work- makes me smile everytime I drive by.

Poodleone - love your backyard bluebonnets. Did you seed them and then they just reproduce for you or do you seed some every year? :clap:

We have lived here for two years and have thrown out seed both years. Although the wildflowers are perennials, we kind of help them along, especially the bluebonnets- we would really like the whole slope to be covered eventually. Bluebonnet plants make a good cover in poor soil.

I noticed today that the Bastard Cabbage is fast overtaking the bluebonnets. It's everywhere!!:eek:

Yet another "let's introduce a plant to our area" idea gone bad!

This is absolutely beautiful. How long will they flower Poodleone? So glad to see something that is awe inspiring!!! :wave:

They usually flower really well for about a month then start fading out. Funny thing is, we found a few little stragglers still blooming around Christmas time.
