The weather was gorgeous, and it's been wonderful having the older son home, but the star of our Thanksgiving feast was:
The turkey.
Yes, the brining made it juicy, but best of all, it really brought out the *turkey* flavor.
My poor husband ruined the gravy, but we forgave him. (I don't much like gravy anyway.) ;-)

I didn't brine my turkey, wish I had. Got lazy. Tried a new twist on the cornbread dressing......fabulous! Used a can of cream of chicken soup and a can of cream of celery, plus the broth and usual other stuff. It was yummy!
The chocolate mousse pie and the buttermilk pie---good too!

Can't wait for this story.

Kfunn woke up at 4am over the bowl.
And it would be just my luck it didn't involve anything I pigged out on earlier in the day.:bang:

Hands down, the pumpkin cheesecake served with a delicious cup of hot coffee. The table conversation was pretty good, too. :clap_1:

We had one of those and it was delish, as well as an apple pie my sister made. The pumpkin cheesecake was bought from a local farm market where they make them from scratch and we picked up fresh cider and had that with caramel and cinnamon sticks.
