Chocolate-pecan pie (thank you Beachrunner:love:)
Also a big hit was Tootsie's corn casserole! Next time I'll double the recipe! Everyone must try this!

And the worst dish - - the "stuffing." My god, that was so horrible and sticky. Just pure white bread. But this was an in-law's house, so what can I say...

we tripled it. its usually a kids favorite. such an old stand-by...

The weather was gorgeous, and it's been wonderful having the older son home, but the star of our Thanksgiving feast was:
The turkey.
Yes, the brining made it juicy, but best of all, it really brought out the *turkey* flavor.
My poor husband ruined the gravy, but we forgave him. (I don't much like gravy anyway.) ;-)

so true. and now that I'm back at my own house, I'm going to go get a BF turkey and do it right!

The company, the beach, the weather. It does not get any better!

We met some new friends from New Orleans and one of the appetizer's they did was french bread with some kind of sauce, cheese and crawfish....mmmmm, delish! Skunky? any idea what that is called?:dunno: I will get the recipe and post asap.
