The turkey- this was the first year for brining. OMG. Juiciest turkey EVER!!! We will brine very turkey we make from now on. Even my mother admitted it was better than hers!:D

Bdarg makes a mean pumpkin pie too.

What worked: Brining the turkey worked really well, very moist. Used Williams-Sonoma brining mix and a garbage bag to soak for about 18 hours.

What didn't work: Oyster dressing from Destin Ice. I was going to make my own but wife pre-empted me and purchased prepared dressing at Destin Ice. A definite non-starter.

We did get fresh Pompano from DI that was great- prepared both en papillotte and also blackend.

Cornbread dressing, gravy and turkey (brined)...yummy!! :clap_1: Mr. K just went outside and made smores for the chillren.

Also a big hit was Tootsie's corn casserole! Next time I'll double the recipe! Everyone must try this!

And the worst dish - - the "stuffing." My god, that was so horrible and sticky. Just pure white bread. But this was an in-law's house, so what can I say...

Hands down, the pumpkin cheesecake served with a delicious cup of hot coffee. The table conversation was pretty good, too. :clap_1:
