If you're singing the theme from "Jaws" as you type that, you can just shut it! :nono1:

I told you my shark story- remember? Remember the part about the water being so clear that you can see them coming? That water was so clear I saw his eyeballs. It was not the big deal that I always imagined it to be. I didn't run screaming down the beach or anything. It was fun to tell the story though!

39. Boiled peanuts

Ok, Johnrudy and all you other southerners....help me out here. I am reluctant to ask this, but tell me the deal about boiled peanuts. :dunno: We don't have them much here in Texas. I see them all along the route to Fla., and have only sampled them one time--last summer. Very weird....are you supposed to eat the shells???? I shelled mine, but I don't think that really improved the taste much...Help..I just don't understand!! :dunno: :dunno:

I guess they really are regional - - very regional, like only 1 or 2 states, peanut growing states, AL and GA (& maybe even southern AL and GA.) But they are wonderful and don't eat the shells. I guess they would be considered comfort food for some of us, especially since I'm no where near boiled peanuts anymore. But I do understand, if you haven't been raised on them, they would be kinda gross, I guess. Mr. JR almost vomits when I get them when we're south! (They're not THAT weird.)

they are in SC too....they are the best...one of those things, though, that you love or hate...no middle of the road...when I lived in Charleston...one of my customers grew peanuts and boiled some for us...they were as big as your thumb...my gosh...heaven!!!
Kurt makes a great cajun boiled peanut!!!...some people even use crab boil to cook them:lol:

Uh, yeah!
Which is exactly why I asked about the "Jaws" theme! I knew what you were thinking!!!
In fact, I came home from Indy and told Mr. Pod I was going to get a t-shirt made with what you told me--"Don't worry, the water's so clear, you'll see him coming!"
P.S. And I couldn't wait to see what you had to say about boiled peanuts making the list! :lolabove:

Boiled peanuts rank up there with escargot, blue cheese, and mushrooms in my list of BLECHHH! I really wished I liked them though- I've always wanted to buy a little bag from those nice people that sell them at intersections in small Alabama towns!

45. Playing "Easter Egg Hunt" with 4 year old. I hid them in 1 room (all totally visible), and she sqeaked every time she grabbed one.

46. The very tiny glass of red wine I'm pouring as a treat- haven't had ANY all week!
