Bless your hearts!! I guess the consolation is that it happened when it did. Your decorations were ok..did you still have presents under your tree? (You mentioned your family coming??)

Yes all my decorations were ok. This is the first year I have not used my blown glass ornaments because we wanted to do the tree in red this year. The blown glass ones were packed good and the position the boxes were in was perfect because not one got wet. The stuff that got wet was insignificant stuff that was ok to toss.:clap_1:

Oh yes, my side of the family was coming in for Christmas this weekend. Everybody did all the other ones last weekend and this weekend was ours. We've moved it down to Daddy's and I'm sure everybody will want to come up here and tour. It's unbelievable. We live about a mile apart so it's really no problem to move it, it's just that it was my turn and I decorated extra good....:sosad:

I am so sorry to hear of this horrible mess and inconvenience. I'd be flipping out for sure! You seem to be handling it pretty well.

I viewed your before pix and your home and decorating is just beautiful!! Love your Christmas decorations too.

Good luck ~

Thanks everybody for the kind words, they make me smile! I love to decorate and make junk. Yes, we're both holding our heads up high and taking it in stride. We're just worn out! I told somebody today, it's just stuff and it can be replaced.
We're ok, we have a roof over our heads and have lots of good friends:love:

 ....oh BC! I am so glad you were home when this happened! I had a similar experience last year in a guest bedroom and bath. Those restoration companies are the best! Have you picked out your new carpet yet? ;-) Oh, and can you have the dining room furniture stripped and restained or painted? Just an idea.
