I view priests, bishops and the pope as I do any other employee, manager/director and CEO of any other company or organization. My stance is if you molest your customers you should be thrown in jail. And if you cover it up you should be held accountable.

These allegations go straight to Benedict and they seem credible and documented. What was the vatican's response? That this is merely an attempt to smear the pope and his aides.

They should be smeared after what happened to over 200 deaf choir boys.

I am in agreement as well. But, not surprised as this has been the MO for decades with this group, which is excruciatingly unfortunate that any person can think so little of humankind that there appears to be no conscience as he goes through with such heinous acts.

I think if you read the history of many (not all) the Popes, there are some very sordid stories...Alexander VI sired several bastard children and took one child as his lover. Pius XII was Pope during Hitlers reign and had not one harsh word against the man..Pope John XII took his mother on as his lover :shock:...

Looks like Pope Benedict is just another criminal member of the "Do as I say, not as I do" family, whose methods of control over the masses of sinners is, at best, hippocritical. More like way outta control to me.

The majority of catholic priest and upper managment live their lifes dedicated to serving the good of the human race and trying to follow the example Jesus laid down. I personally am not backing off of anything or anyone. This isn't some unsubstantiated isolated accusation by a disgruntled former church employee mentioned in an op ed piece. We are talking about the sexual abuse of over 200 deaf children. The NY Times sources are church documents obtained by the plantiffs in a lawsuit.

Stop harboring these criminals. Your attitude is the reason such abuse became so pervasive and longstanding. Disgusting.

More news outlets are picking this one up. Gone are the days when the flock will cover for Father Fondler.
