I can't believe how much attention the media is dedicating to this. It's as if a former president died or something. Yes, someone died today, he had a job in media, and family. That's sad. But is this really such big news that it warrents upstaging what went on in the race today? Or how many people died today in Africa, or Iraq? The air of self importance in all this just makes ill.
edit: and as you all may have guessed, I'm not a huge fan of the main street media.

Russert was better liked than several former Presidents. I heard that last week, Tim went to listen to the Pope speak. I will miss listening to the man very much, but when someone who lives a full life passes on, we shouldn't be sad. Death is part of life and it will happen to every one of us, at no announced time. Live each moment to the fullest, and you won't regret life, when death comes knocking. Here's an idea: tell people your thoughts about them while they are still alive and can appreciate them. They cannot hear you after they die. Go find some people today, and tell them what you think. No Regrets!

The epitome of fairness, with an ability to connect to all. It is not an easy task. How many journalists can you think of who can pull it off?
