Perhaps A Nice Add Campaign Of Giving Out Small Trash Bags To Visiting Children. Make It A Game...clean Up The Beach. Have A Couple Of Businesses Donate A Soda Or Something For Every Full Bag The Child Collects. Mom And Dad Have To Bring The Kid In For The Soda, So There's A Potential Sale And Whoever's Business Is On The Bag Will Look Like They Are Really Doing Their Part. Too Bad I Don't Have A Business Or I Would Do It Myself. Hint Hint. Even If It's Not Really Beach Trash, At Least It's In A Bag Now. Howsabout A Free Draught Beer For Every Cup Of Cig Butts You Collect? I'd Just Walk Around Picking Up Cigbutts And Drinking All Day. Smoke Up!

caps lock broken? mine is!

child labor laws keep kids from picking up trash for money, plus sanitary and health issues would stop parents from letting them really fast once one got hurt

i however, being of either sterner, or stupider stuff, have done just that before - they simply denied it was 'their' trash and said the place we were at had someone on staff that was paid to pick it up! silly me!

perhaps its time to get the tdc to purchase a king and solve the problem - and pay for it by renting it out to the other beaches - all hail the king

I wouldn't want to get rid of the seaweed on the beach.

"Scarifier - The adjustable scarifier on the Beach King? II levels and smoothes the beach before sand is processed. When in the down position, the scarifier prevents large objects from entering the machine. The machine can be run with the scarifier engaged or with the scarifier disengaged - perfect for cleaning seaweed and other fine bulky material. "

according to the pics on the website, the king's 'scarifier' is a big vertical blade thingy can be run either up, i.e., remove seaweed (and chairs, coolers, tents, etc) or down (no seaweed, chairs, coolers, tents, etc), just knocks them around and possibly crushes them instead - poetic justice if you ask me for those who left their crap on the beach - "oh man, its trashed! wha?"

i recall routine seaweed cleanup at large condos over the years due to the stink of rotting sargasso - using a bulldozer that didn't care how much sand that went to the dump with the seaweed

also removes the jagged broken glass beer bottle, from just under the sand, that some drunk busted last night, before you (or your poor child!) step on it and get cut all the way down to the bone!

Will it also dig out the 8" metal spikes which people use to secure their tents? :bang:They will need a bigger container on that machine if it picks up chairs, umbrellas and toys.

Do they make one which picks up litter bugs?

From Blue Mtn Beach parking lot. I do pick up trash, but I am not touching this filled diaper.

Bobby, I hope the piece that got you wasn't filled with rusty nails like this piece I found in BMB today.
