Anybody ever had one? :dunno: After seeing one in National Geographic I ordered one for Tgiving.

I read that article also, very interesting lets us know how it tastes. My mom told me that Martha Stewart had a guy on her show who had a very very different turducken recipe, than the one in the National Geographic--it was roasted in a pot with juniper twigs.

Turducken is okay, but arm yourself with plenty of Tums, because it will give you a massive case of heartburn. In my opinion, only worth it if you are not the one doing the stuffing, which seems rather gross. It is a small chicken stuffed into a duck, then the duck is stuffed into a large turkey. Sometimes they also contain short ribs or foie gras, in which case you'd better have a case of Tums or other industrial-strength anti-acid.

I remember when deep-fried turkey was all the rage. We thought it was a joke, maybe that the stuffing was mayonnaise. Some people swear by them. A lady brought one to my mother's house one Thanksgiving night and that was the toughest bird we ever met. It could have stood up on its own, fought two able-bodied men for the door, and walked to Mobile without losing a beat.

I think it is the name (and it's spelling) that's really turning me off. We saw the same Nat'l Geo article and were intrigued as well though.

RO- please take a pic of your big ol' T-giving Turducken and post it. Maybe a before shot and after it's cooked shot!
