Just to lighten things up even further... if you think about it, just about every invention since the industrial revolution has been either a double-edged sword or a Pandora's Box. The automobile, the Internet, the I-phone(texting), DNA research...the list goes on and on...I guess it's just up to us to evolve as quickly as we can, because the future keeps coming at us like a windshield on a love-bug.

I seem to see a fair number of them on the Mid-Bay Bridge at different times. It's the approach to the Eglin AFB runways, and sometimes the shape is just absolutely wrong for a manned plane. (They've even dropped one or two small ones on houses near base over the years, generally causing minor roof damage.)

Another big tinfoil hat beware place here- the space tracking center just northwest of Freeport. You can see it a bit going northbound on the 331 bridge.

Do you see them regularly? I thought I spotted one two or three weeks back. Clear night, lots of high altitude planes circling for a few hours (Seagrove)...

What you are seeing at night are, indeed, drones. The first officer we had on our last air show is recently retired from the Air Force. He flew out of Eglin and still has a house in Niceville. I've always wondered about the high pitched propeller sound that you can hear late at night. They are easy to see on clear nights flying big racetrack patterns. I asked him if they were trainers out of Pensacola, and without hesitation he said that they were drones.

Keep in mind that Eglin is the military's ordinace testing facility. Doubtful they are snooping. Most likely are testing.

I predict some day in America drones will attack Americans from the skies. I predict that humans all over the world will eventually live in fear of the skies. In countries with repressive regimes dissent will be swiftly crushed. This technology will be shared and it will proliferate and be perfected to maximize control. This is a very sad development for Humanity and freedom.

Who would have ever guessed you and Rand Paul would be on the same page?!

Pink Floyd does sum it up real well. I just found a video on Youtube called the Making of the Dark Side of the Moon. It was about 50 minutes long, but if you have Floydian tendencies, it was well worth it to understand the construction of such a great piece of music.

I have Floydian and Freudian tendencies with a sprinkling of Nietzsche for zestiness.
