Walton Victory Center Closing?

Is this serious or a jab?
Rapunzel and I went to take a peek at Taste of Oz last night and noted some pinheads had plastered Obama signs (OK, not exactly signs but the word O'bama, and Obama written on paper torn out of a notebook) all over the front of WRobert's HQ. You know what we did? We took them down;there is no need to do this kind of crap. What was even goofier was that a kid had obviously written some of the signs, ergo, some enlightened blue state adult most likely put on a fine demonstration of apre sundown activism.
I must say, had the same been done to the Obama HQ there would probably be quite the outrage.

yeah, that's not nice. No call for it.

This is a serious inquiry, since I know the Dems don't have what I'm looking for, and it's all pretty gently used equipment.

Mods: i realized I put this in the wrong forum, can it be moved to local please?

Good for you, skunky. That type of political sabotage is uncalled for and makes many people dislike the other party even more. When it escalates, it can be very bad, resulting in extreme violence against other Americans. I am amazed at the intense hatred shown by some people in both parties. I am even more amazed at the intense loyalty to their own party, as though their party is 100% the best party, and all else is sub-par. We are effing Americans, and until more people begin to realize that, including the politicians, I expect that we will see more political sabotage in the future.

Very well said.

A friend of mine, that has opposing views on the political situation, sent me this article on debating politics. It is written for Gentlemen; but certainly can pertain to Gentlewomen also, I found the media reference to be so true.

:(I'm sad that some Obama's supporters feel the need to do such childish and provocative things. The two opposing headquarters -- less than a mile apart-- have co-existed in peace and harmony. This act is "off message" and not what those of us who are working so hard to elect Obama believe is the way to win elections.

I don't think they were necessarily the most dedicated of supporters -- the "signs" were pages ripped out of a notebook and written in green magic marker -- and they'd misspelled Obama. It seemed more like a teen prank than even an off message act of a wayward supporter. Still, i'm glad we stumbled upon it before someone who'd put their heart and soul into working at the
Victory Center and really took offense.

I guess being the only Republican willing to take the abuse, I get linked with a lot of stuff. But that is not my HQ. I did not pick out that site. And I have been against opening up these centers the last six years. I do my best to work and raise money for local/state offices. With cell phones and the internet, I do not understand why you need a central place to sit and make phone calls. And worst yet, these things are an inordinate drain on the local party resources and time as things are coordinated, only for everyone to disappear after the election when the real work begins on the next cycle.

But thanks Skunky and Rapunzel.

Now did you eat at OZ? They were closed by the time I got to sowal on Saturday but am going to try to get down there next week.

If anyone wants to know for sure about the HQ, Tim Norris would be the one to ask.

The office equipment inside is on loan from various individuals. Some of it was donated for use with the understanding it goes to charity after the election.

Paging WRobert

How about that Republican pinata? Seems that is you holding the donkey.

Straight at you "Mr I Alone take the Heat" was a picture of Obama on its butt ?

Seems you have been dodging that one.

thanks, Robert. It sure is a swanky office, with McCain greeting everyone who walks by. Kind if threw me when I first pulled up. I ate at OZ yesterday and it is awesome. I'll give detail in the dining area. Thanks for the info re the FFE.
