Can't wait to hear and see more!!

Me too. It will be a pleasant diversion to hear and see Washington from a different perspective these days. :D

Cheery blossoms are what I call those trees. Enjoy OL!

 We're home...lots of pics to come. I honestly don't think I've ever walked that much in my life. We were so lucky with the weather. It only sprinkled on us one day and that was yesterday when we were doing mostly indoor things.

Off to

Can't wait to see more pics and a report upon our return! (hows the bed situation?)

I called the hotel before we left but they were at full capacity. It was so busy everywhere due to spring break. ( you will see from all our pics of how crowded everything was) We had a king bed and a double sofa. The kids were not thrilled at first but after the first night it was fine. We were all so tired at the end of the day we could have slept in chairs. (not really, I really liked the comfy bed)

Okay you said it was going to be cold on the train. But that was ridiculous.

Well, that could be because you went in July. Things are typically warmer in July. I did not go in July. I went in April, when there is a 40-degree temperature difference between Florida and DC, and the one who normally keeps me warm was on the other side of the aisle and back two seats.

Have a good time, watch fireworks and make some of your own. ;-) And I promise the scenery coming back through Virginia will be prettier than the scenery going up through Georgia.
