The biggest issue that any real conservative should have a problem with is the mounting deficit.

Trump has successfully shifted conservative hot topics (issues) away from the deficit and corporate welfare and toward fears of social change and freedoms to be privileged and greedy and uncaring about inequality. The Trump supporters I know are as solid in support of him as ever. Their talking points are "we have gotten away from God, Country and Politician Representation". They believe that God sent Donald Trump to us to correct these "deficits". They seem to hate Pelosi and blame her and the other "democrat" politicians for almost everything. Trump could have probably successfully talked them in to blaming the virus on Pelosi and the democrats had he thought about it. These Trump supporters that I know are good people even though I know that seems hard to imagine. We humans are a fearful species is all I can figure out and fear works in politics.

Bob1 is probably right in that the election will not change the minds of Trump supportes about anything and their fears will grow and who knows after that. It would be a miracle if Biden can bring these people back to reality. What has helped stoke their fears are the destructive protesting, tearing down historical monuments (which I get), talk of defunding the police, social acceptance of the LGBTQ community in marriage (in other words the destruction of the family), taking prayer out of the schools, socialization of education and healthcare and any government mandate of almost anything. I am not able to reach them anymore but I keep trying. They seem to be refusing to accept social change. It is frustrating because Trump has solidified them and gave them hope that things will get back to the good old days of God, Country and Politicians who pray for God and Country. They have been mislead by a false prophet but they would follow him to hell and back. The Republican party is now centered around this group of religious zealots. I really don't know if anyone can bring them back to the real world. If the election is a landslide victory for Biden and if he is successful in calming their fears then maybe just maybe they will come around. Unfortunately it all depends on how close the election is and if Trump will transfer power with civility. What are the odds?

If you have not voted yet please go vote now. Vote with your conscience! Vote with your common sense! But please be fearless when you vote!

Tucker is as good a story teller. Fiction. Because Donald Trump supporters believe in almost all his fiction it will open up the cracker jack box for others like Tucker Carlson to invent stories to distract from truth. Just another man who has sold his soul.

I noticed that Biden mentioned defeating the NRA today in Tampa. I started to cringe a little because this election is not over. I would not advised him to go there just yet. Maybe he believed his audience to be more young people but he may have to man splain it to many of the millions who support the NRA. You can support gun ownership and support gun regulation like myself. But "defeating" the NRA sounds risky to me.

The NRA ain't what it used to be. The power came from billions from gun makers spent to buy politicians. The money is gone.

Today the NRA is primarily a right wing political organization.

Agreed but it is an organization that has 5.5 million members plus at least double that in support from non-members like hunters and other sportsman. More like triple. I feel like the race is tightening and now people are wanting to change the way they voted early. I am concerned about the election being too close. Every vote matters! I would not write off this large group. Maybe look at it this way. Take out the issue of the Pandemic and what does this election look like. Trump has persuaded a large following that the Pandemic is nothing to be concerned about because he would lose big based on that one issue. Unfortunately that large following is about 40%! Can Biden afford to lose the NRA group that may be as large as 15 million votes. Listen if people would use their big brain instead of their small brain it would not matter that much but Trump has successfully convinced millions that the virus is not that bad. Voters don't always use the big brain and democrats have not figured that out yet. For Biden to unite us he will have to have some right wing support. I am already frustrated that I can't convince the religious right to vote for Biden so when you add those NRA supporters into the group it gets downright impossible to unite anybody. What I am trying to say is that democrats get a little complacent and/or over confident toward the end and it makes me worried. So I wish he had not used the word "defeat" the NRA. It would have been better if he had been more specific. Trump will pick up on this eventually.

Another problem is that there is a study that found that more people now vote against the other party instead of for their own party. I believe that is why Trump rallies are successful in terms of the enthusiasm of hate. Attending a Trump rally has nothing to do with using the big brain and everything to do with emotion. Trump has taken advantage of this trend. Both Trump and Fox news are really good at using rhetoric that incites the emotion of fear and hate. Now other networks that support Biden do the same thing. If this is a close election both sides will believe that the other side cheated or stole the election. So another reason why this election is different is because there is an unknown factor in what happens in a close election where both sides hate each other. We need to come together as a country and reverse this trend. Only Biden/Harris can do that so every vote matters!

Yes republicans vote for hate of democrats. But mostly they vote red out of FEAR of almost everything that isn't in their make believe, brainwashed world.

Which is why they vote more on voting day. They may be complacent for whatever reason, but as it gets closer and closer to November 3rd they get more and more scared of the bogeyman, which is almost everything not in their bubble but especially brown people and foreigners. The fact that the majority of Americans, and many who vote, don't think as they do begins to pierce the lizard brain and lifts them from the safety of their sofa to the voting booth.

I prefer not to demean anyone. I only meant that emotion is a powerful political tool on both sides but republicans are a little better at turning it into fear and hatred which are negative emotions. This particular study says that hating the other side is more important than liking a side. In other words negative emotions are becoming more prevalent than positive emotions. IMO this means that we as a country are in trouble because we are very divided AND energized by negative emotions. The social environment is not in a good mental state right now. Only Biden's message has any chance of healing the wounds that democrats and republicans inflict on each other. Trump has turned Americans against each other. We have to come together and figure out how to overcome this negative energy with positive. If that is an impossible task then yeah we in big trouble.

"Trump's America" is an uncivil, dishonest, abusive, prejudiced, sexist, selfish, privileged and backwards governing of a country that actually threatens our Constitution and Democracy! Civil unrest is growing. We are divided. Trump has energized that division and justified all the above in a way that is causing us to become reactive. Trump tells radicalized groups to "stand by". Trump's radicalized groups planned to kidnap and execute a female Governor. How can republicans not see what Donald Trump is doing to America? Their is plenty of evidence to the fact that we are being led by a dictator. How in the world does anyone justify Donald Trump's America? Yet this election will be very close. I believe we all have the basics of moral behavior from our DNA. Are we going put back in place our democracy...our constitution...our morality? This Tuesday will be a day that determines the future of America. Will it be Trump's America or something better? We are still able to choose...
