My daddy and Stepmom used to love to do the jitterbug. I loved watching them.

I used to have tons of "beach music" mix tapes- shagging music that made it to Louisville from college friends in the Carolinas and Virginia. The Tams, the Embers, the Showmen, and the best- The Chairmen of the Board. Some of my friends had amazing collections and played the VA/NC frat party circuit. Of course, those were my "pink and green" days.

I just watched some of those youtubes, and not one played any real beach music- people are now shagging to anything, even country music. That just seems wrong!

Right-left-right (and lean slightly to the right when you step with your right foot).
Left-right-left.
Right-left (and back up a tad when you do this).
Then repeat the above.

What does "bump" on SoWal.com mean when I see this in people's posts? There used to be a dance called the bump - it was one of my favorites. Should be a SoWal ho down favorite if you do some dancing.
