I am sure some of the other posters are probably getting sick of hearing about my weight loss, because I have mentioned it several times in other posts, but oh well, I am just so happy to have lost it!!! My secret in a nutshell: The South Beach Diet, got me started. Then I just modified my diet. No sugar, so white flour, white rice or white potatoes. I eat 100% whole grains; pasta, brown rice, bread in moderation, all the other veggies I want, all kinds of meat (I got to have my meat). I have to admit, in the winter time I don't exercise much, I do try and work out on my bow flex a couple of time's a week. In the spring and summer I walk alot. OH, and portion control, that is key for me. I eat slower and when my body tells me I am full I quit eating. I used to be really bad about having to finish everything on my plate (you know, the starving kids in Africa guilt trip), not anymore. You will be surprised if you really listen to your body it will tell you when you have had enough. So, that is what I have done. I feel great and wish anyone else out there trying to beat the battle of the bulge, much success!!!!!!!
Thats what I wanted to hear :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1: Way to go. SJ's comment about calorie consumption and burning is just too hard (but true). Wanted to hear the details. Congrats!

on this age thing - i go to the dentist this morning, the first words out of his mouth were "i see you are going to be 40 this year - we should probably bump your cleanings up to every 6 months" - oh my god - way to start out a conversation doc. he ended with a $3000 estimate for all the work i need - and this was my reaction:

first:
second: :rotfl:

by the way, i just talked to my mom, and told her my dental woes, and mentioned that i feel since she is my parent it is her responsibility to pay my costs. she wasn't very kind in her reply, there was profanity involved. she said she knew damn good and well i could afford to pay my own bills. i didn't say i couldn't afford it - i just don't want to pay it !! :rotfl:

i told her being a parent is a life-long responsibility. she hung up on me. :dunno:

hehehehe she called and said they would pay for it, after all, i am only shooting myself in the foot, she would be taking it out of my inheritance

i like to tease her about stuff like this, because i really do have the greatest mom, and if she had to she would sell the shirt off her back to provide for her "girls".

i was laughing, the dentist gave me paperwork in my info packet on interest free dental loans, i think i will mail it to mom !
