I remember my mother ironing our sheets years ago. Why did she do that? Were they 100% cotton and needed to be ironed or did she just not have enough to do? :dunno: I can honestly say the thought of ironing my sheets has never crossed my mind.

Maybe it was therapy. She now likes to dig in the flower beds, she says it is therapy.

My mother used to iron sheets, and now my sister has inherited the habit. She has a maid and two nannies (even has a nanny when they come to the beach), so she definitely doesn't need to do household work. Her kitchen is always a disaster (even with household help because the kids eat constantly), so she's definitely not the Martha Stewart type. But she loves to iron sheets.

She says it relaxes her and that she loves the way ironed cotton sheets feel on her skin.

I iron twice a year, whether I need to or not. LOLOL. In the interim if something needs ironing, I send it to the cleaners and pay them to iron it.
