That coke cola aka dune lake flood water go away? Seems like over a week . is this unusual
For post flood stage? 4th rain over flow only lasted 3/4 days.

If the currents are moving then it takes awhile. It's still safe to swim in, just not as appealing.

Visiting soon. Hope it clears up. Have been watching the webcams. How about biting flies? When I visit Seagrove this time of year we often run into lots of biting flies. comments? Suggestions? Thanks.

Been here since saturday. Have always loved the sand and the water. Still love the sand and the breeze. The water has been so disappointing. Breaks my heart.

I was also at Seagrove this past week. Started to clear a bit on Wednesday and by Thursday and Friday, the mornings were really pretty nice. In the afternoons, the water started to murk back up a little and the waves picked up. I didn't see the dark water anymore after Wednesday. Only had those dastardly biting flies for a bit on Friday. Love the area. Back in Missouri, ho hum.

The "heartbreaking water" is part of the natural coastal dune lake process. Maybe if people learn about the lakes they will appreciate the constantly changing nature of the lakes- it is very cool. Nature is not a controllable amenity. ;)

Great article about the dune lakes in the Northwest Florida Daily News. These posts about the "nasty brown" water are exactly the reactions that local naturalists and residents are trying to combat with teaching people about the lakes.

The coastal environment is always changing and beautiful in every stage. We do need to learn more about protecting, preserving and appreciating waterways, dune lakes, coastal dunes and vegetation.

Fall brings a whole new wave of changes, critters, weather and colors to our coast. Can't wait!

When we see crystal clear emerald waters in the gulf, it is stunning and such a gift. Its also just one of the many faces of the gulf, dependent on time of year, weather, storms and much more.

The water is awesome right now! A bit green because of june grass but not too bad in most places.
