Thank you for the information. I read the article and certainly appreciate the natural changes of your area. I have been vacationing near those lakes for a number of years and just had never experienced quite the extent of the brown water in the gulf that I had this year. I understand a bit better now. I am just a tourist, after all, just a visitor to the most beautiful beaches in the world! Its "heartbreaking" to me because I work all year looking forward to the clear, emerald waters in this one week! I understand Mother Nature gets to make the call and we've had many lovely weeks there. Thanks again for the article.

I know how it is - when you look forward to it all year and dream of perfect water.

If you are still in town and want to experience truly clean clear water, you should venture up to Morrison Springs, in the north of the county. It is cold, clear spring water that is exhilarating as anything you have seen.

Thanks. Lots of beautiful, clear springs in Missouri if any of you Floridians want to visit here! Lakes, rivers, springs we have, the gulf we can't match.
:)
