Perry is a city in Taylor County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,847 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 6,703.[2] It is the county seat of Taylor County.[3] The town was named for American Civil War general Edward A. Perry, who was the 14th Governor of Florida
