Re the new "birthers," i.e., the "transcripters":
I remember that at one point, somehow, Sam Donelson had obtained Colin Powell's college transcript from The City College of New York.
I remember in a face-to-face interview, Donelson said something like, "Well, well, Colin Powell--C student at the City College of New York. Became Chaiman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff & then Secretary of State. What do you have to say about that?"
General (Secretary) Powell responded: "It's a great country, Sam."
I think you should have to be born here. There are many other important jobs a non-citizen by birth can do, but I want the head of the country to be a born and bred American.Honestly I would have no problem with a naturalized citizen being President. I do not think being born here is a necessary criteria for the best person for the job.

16% of All Voters & 30% of Republicans Continue to Believe Obama Not Born in U.S.
UTICA, NY - Sixteen percent of all voters and 30% of Republicans do not believe President Barack Obama has proven he was born in the U.S., even after release of his long-form birth certificate, a new IBOPE Zogby interactive survey finds.
These results are from an IBOPE Zogby interactive poll conducted April 29-May 2, which was after Obama released the birth certificate and addressed the news media on the topic.
Demographic groups besides Republicans expressing the highest levels of doubt about Obama's birth in the U.S. are conservatives (34%), and those without a college degree (21%) vs. those with a degree (11%).
