Get rid of all clothes that you hope to never fit in again. Also get rid of your scale. I judge my size by my clothes. If they get tight I start watching what I eat. But since I gave up refined carbs I've had no problem with gaining weight, particularly holiday weight. I also rid myself of all elastic waist pants, used to be after holiday's in Louisiana I had to ride back to Santa Rosa Beach in sweat pants cause that was the only thing I could get into.

Get a Paula Dean cookbook and some girl scout cookies and you'll be fine!

I have a few boxes of Samoas, peanut butter sandwiches, Thanksalots and cinnaspins left. If they are here much longer, I will have to move up yet ANOTHER size.:shock: So you skinny people need to buy a few boxes of girl scout cookies- I am ready to wrap up this cookie season!

1. I used to work in jean mfg... it never really works to alter jeans. Jeans are manufactured / sewn on industrial machines using industrial weight threads that aren't readily available at most altering services. In addition, after jeans are sewn they laundered in huge machines with hundreds of other garments, stones & abrasives which create that distinctive worn look on the seams and hems... this cannot be duplicated in a home laundrey environment... so altering the fit of a pair of jeans always ends up "showing" in the weirdest most unauthentic way.

2. Re: Black pants... you can never have too many. You may decide to work for Starbucks some day & then you'll need every single pair you own:lol:

Thanks why I'm so glad that Gap has jeans for curvy women. No matter what my weight, my hips and butt will never leave me!!!!!! I have had to fight jean waistline issues in the past that I don't have to anymore.:clap:

Now, if I can get manufacturer's to make longer sleeves on mediums, so I don't have every long sleeve shirt look like a 3/4 sleeve or buying shirts that are too big so I can have long sleeves, I'd be the happiest person in the world!

We're flying down to Naples for a week at Easter so I've spent the whole morning going through my summer clothing. I've been trying on everything. And my conclusion is that as full of myself as I was last night for having porker jeans that were too big, well, every pair of summer shorts is still snug. God lord do I ever need to do a wad of biking and kayakking down in SoWal. :lol:

I also have no problem gaining weight! :lol:

It took me two years to realize I would never be really small again - gave away about 15 pairs of jeans at once. Now, I find I can gain 5 pounds and still wear my clothes - 8 pounds and I can only wear my shorts with elastic waists or skirts. Great motivator. I always manage to get back to working out and eating clean so I can have more than three outfits to choose from.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Scary!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Shoot me if I ever become like that! (Although my belly did look a bit like that for a year after having He-Man, thank goodness it's gone now.) Hitting 35 this year was hard enough. NOTHING until then was a biggie year-wise, but seeing ads for clothes for women 35 & up just made me ill.....

Okay, clicky on the picture for an SNL skit that this thread reminded me of.
