I don't know or care if it's jounalism, but it's definitely the media. It's information transfer. If information is quickly verifiable or falsifiable, that's all most of us need. Most of us want an accurate picture of reality, and if the messenger has less than noble intent, so be it. The Internet genie isn't going back in the bottle anytime soon.
I agree. The real issue that Wikileaks highlights is how piss-poor the government (and to a large extent industry and people) in general are at properly protecting information.
I think it is pretty safe for everyone to assume that any information that exists digitally is insecure and connot currently be secured.
