Yes, that's right where we were. That store collapse made national news, I know, and we were right there, saw it firsthand and were just in shock to see the damage.
So, I guess you figured out it was St. Clair Square, kt. Just a mess in that area, had to see it to believe it.

Glad to hear you are safe Peapod. Nashville had really bad weather Friday night. It was the worst thunderstorm I have seen in awhile. I was driving through a tornado warning and I was so scared! There were 19 people killed in TN this weekend.

I hope all of the KY people made it down ok. I saw lots of KY cars headed south.

Thought about you this morning when I saw the reports from Tennessee. Glad you're safe, too, Whitey.

Glad everyone here seems to be okay!

I used to live about an hour north of Dyersberg, TN, and don't miss that kind of weather. I'd rather deal with a moderate hurricane- at least you know they're coming and can adequately prepare.

Pea glad you and the little peas are ok.....it has been a weird couple of months here. We have to get a whole new roof from the hail storm in february, and it was just sunny and wonderful here untill minutes before the storm hit yesterday !!!!
Ktschris lives just up the street from me, she had no power all night where our neighborhood did just fine (but no cable) I have a feeling this is just the begining of a long stormy spring  our kids leave for camp on Wednesday, I just pray that they have a couple of calm days!! I cant imagine dealing with 32 sixth graders during a severe storm!!!!

Ugh about the roof, seagrovelover! Glad you made it through yesterday's storm all right, though.
My dad called today to say he'd seen on the news all the stuff I'd told him we saw firsthand yesterday. He added that they're reporting estimates are it all happened in about one minute's time--isn't that mind-boggling? I saw a neighborhood here where there was severe damage; large, expensive homes, some of them with the insides totally exposed, just like some of the hurricane-damaged homes I've seen in Sowal. :sosad:

Percy, Seagrovelover, ktschris, I am glad to know that you are all ok. We got some bad thunderstorms here last night, but it wasn't near as bad as it could have been. These storms that you guys got remind me of the tornados of '89 here in Huntsville. They were terrible, with lost lives. It is so sad!!!! I am just glad to know that you are all ok!!!!

my sis lives on the border of western indiana just like we are on the eastern border. anywho, she said the sheriff called them and her in-laws last night and told them to get in a closet because a tornado had been spotted a few miles from their house. she said it was sheer terror for my nephew who was scared to huddle in the walk-in closet.

these tornado stories really bring back childhood memories in Bham, Ala. My mom made all four of us kids get under the bed with her - and I remember she couldn't fit her head under the bed because of her big huge 70's hair rollers, she would rip them out as fast as she could - we laugh about that now - but it was very scary at the time!
so glad you are all okay.
