I don't think it matters who the VEEP nominee is. Women didn't vote en masse for Ferraro, Quayle didn't hurt Bush I, Gore was a failed candidate a few times before Clinton/Gore and failed again after Clinton/Gore, Lieberman didn't bring much to Gore, and Edwards has perenially polled poorly during his campaigns. What will Obama do? Get African Americans to vote Democrat?...I don't call that groundbreaking.

I was really hoping Oprah would make a difference for Hillary but she's been singing Obama's praises since he first announced or was it even before he announced? :dunno: Did she encourage him to run? Her announcement is no surprise is it, just based on the fact that she's been saying it forever, or is this just her 'official' Oprah announcement now? Oh I get it, it's just the first time for Oprah to do it publically.
Sorry sowalers. You see she probably got me goin' so early partly because of all her excitement. :dunno: She's got way more exposure. ;-) She's another smart woman and I do  her, but I sure wouldn't vote for her as President, like some people were saying. She's not even a lawyer like Hillary as well as an experienced and trained politrikion. Gosh...

All over the place
? would Oprah endorse Obama if his skin color was different?

Does she support him based on his credentials or his race? Sorry, but I think that she is playing the race card, not the skills and abilities card.

Sad.

To me, the worst part is that the election has nothing to do with issues and morals and ethics and whatever else you can fill in the blank with. It has become a popularity contest that has NOTHING to do with politics. I'm pretty much fed up with all of them and find it all quite boring.

We need someone to come a ridin in on a white horse and save us all!!!!

Where and who is this person?????:dunno:

yeppers.....it sure is. It just boggles my mind that someone could cast a vote just because Oprah or Rush said so.
It doesn't boggle my mind, though it is a downer. People think of it as saving time and concern. Surely, Oprah or Rush must know what they are doing, and since people think that Oprah or Rush are cool, it is an easy decision for them. Those people are not thinking for them selves anyway and if not following a celebrity's choice, they will look to other family or friends who they like and vote like them.

I see your point but your VOTE is the only tool John Q. Citizen has to voice his or her OWN opinion, not someone else's. I just wish people would get more involved and inform themselves instead of blindly voting for someone cuz momma and daddy are...I didnt feel this until I turned 40 though...

I hear you, but if you walk about the Country, you will discover that many people don't have their own opinion about poliTRICKS. They don't realize or care that the Fox is guarding the Hen house.
