Thanks for the warm thoughts sns. Yeah, we're pretty much unprepared for this crap. The "rolling blackouts" have been interesting for sure. Red wine sounds pretty good right about now.



I remember my grandfather had chains. Don't see many these days though. My friend Jamie put some on this 4X4 truck though and has been driving around for two days pulling people out of ditches, etc. What a guy!

My house is COLD! and we haven't even had any blackouts. I think my downstairs heater just can't handle how cold it is. I'm tired of being cold and haven't ventured out on the ice yet. Jamie is paying it forward. good for him!

I want to go to the beach too .......................

It's not so much the cold... and I love snow, it's the dang ice!!!! It is almost impossible to drive on!! Texans don't own snow chains either!

Ice sucks! We don't handle it here very well either. We had bad freezing rain here about a week ago. My car was stuck half in/half out of the garage - about an inch from the garage door frame (and the driveway is level). I had no control over the vehicle and had to wait until it warmed up and the ice thawed. Only 45 more days until Spring!

We're here!!!! I drove the first shift and made it through Dallas without slipping. The roads were clear by the time we were just outside Dallas (around Terrell). Car got iced in MS, but was thawed out in AL. Arrived to rain and a tropical 40 something degrees!

It's snowing!!!A lot!! in Dallas right now!
