Interesting list, Scooty. Explain the learning how to write with your left hand. What is the rationale for that? To train your brain? I used to try and write with my left hand all the time when I was kid...just for funn and became proficient at it, but haven't tried it in a long time.

I have no idea where it came from - best guess is I had read something about someone like President Garfield who could write with both hands and in different languages at the same time. Or that my right hand was tired from taking notes or something. Or because Canoehead was left handed I wanted to learn how too. There's some random stuff on there.

1. Pay off everything I own so I can retire from the "Corporate World" and move to SoWal and become a bartender somewhere. (I am serious about this).

2. See my son graduate high school, college, be independent, get married, give me a grandchild, and be happy.
3. Own a convertible sports car.

4. Meet Bruce Springsteen.

5. Have hair down to the middle of my back. (I am over it being short now).

for starters. ;-)

Mine is "50 things I want to do before I die" that I wrote down back in high school. I have crossed off 24 so far! Each item that gets crossed off has a date and an explanation. My favorite note is for #24. Master high heels - Rome Summer 2002, 3" heels + cobblestones = master. :D Did you buy those heels there? The Italians make such fabu shoes!

It is quite an eclectic mix:
-major life milestones (graduate high school, graduate college, get married, have a baby)
-things I want to accomplish (write a book, read 200 classic books, learn 2 languages besides English, learn to write w/ my left hand, study theology)
-places I want to go (most of the US, Alaska, Mexico, another continent)
-things I want to do/learn how to do properly (cook, lamp/blow glass, ice skate backwards, shoot a handgun, windsurf)
-goofy things I think everyone should do (own cowboy boots, string bikini), You should wear these together..... :D I will if you will!
-things that seemed "big" to me at the time (have a checking account, move away from home)

I have started adding more as I accomplish things. It's pretty funny to see some of the stuff that made the list a decade ago! The one that would probably amuse Sowal the most is that at one time "learn how to 'surf the net'" was on the list!
I distinctly remember a conversation with a GF about us needing to get a friend to show us how to use the internet. :funn:

Always wanted to do this. I figured a month or two would be enough.

Santa.

This will sneak up on you when you least suspect it.

In researching this trek to the N Pole, I actually came across The North Pole Express......train excursion to see Santa. Can't remember which state it embarks, either MI or WI.......would be funn, I think.

I think most of my list will be travel related. Going to the Moon is on my list - as soon as Richard Branson makes it affordable, I'm there!

I learned to Scuba Dive a long time ago, I bungee jumped in Myrtle beach 15 years ago, would like to sky dive at least 1 time. Go back to Zion and walk the Narrows and go back to Hawaii and visit the 7 Sacred pools.

I can only think of two things right now...

Hold my grandchild.

Hold a retired Mr. Kitty's hand while walking down the beach with Molly.

It's the best of life...holding a grandchild...it's heaven on earth watching that grandchild experience the beach for the first time! I wish I could post the pics...
I don't know how :dunno:

I'd love to take a big extended family vacay. I'd like to go West across the country with them, stopping wherever we wanted (including a stop in Maui) and finish it in Australia before flying everyone home.

I'm looking forward to holding grandbabies too.

That would have to be at the end of my list. Good chance we'd kill each other before Hawaii.
