I've always liked the "clickety click" ones.

The kind that whack you on the back when you sit in them and then you'd have to lean waaay forward to get it to go back down.

Then they'd roll over and throw you in the sand. Man those were great.

Are you talking about the ones that weigh about 100lbs each?

I gave up on beach chairs years ago.
What I do is take one of my flip flops sideways and dig a hole big enough for my butt.
All the sand dug out of the hole is used as a pillow.
I then lay my beach towel over the hole and sand pillow and "wha-lah"
instant beach chair!
The deeper the hole you dig the bigger the pillow it really works!
Don't forget to fill the hole back when you leave!
