Cartercraft Roofing Celebrates 30 Years in SoWal

February 21, 2021 by SoWal Staff

2021 marks the 30th year in business for Cartercraft Roofing in South Walton!

As the team celebrates their long-term successes, we look back at how it all started. In 1989, Jamie Carter had a friend with a roofing company who had lots of work along the Gulf Coast. Jamie worked alongside him for two years, until he decided to strike out on his own. In 1991, Jamie Carter Roofing was founded and later became Cartercraft. Jamie and his wife Desma Carter have continued to uphold their philosophy in business over the last 30 years - They honor their word and give customers more than they pay for. Their main goal is to be an honest dependable company who can be trusted to do a great job at a good and fair price. They have always had a reputation for treating people fairly and reasonably in a respectable way.

The crew continues to learn about new materials and products along with new code changes, but are most excited to have added to their sheet metal shop. They  have plans for doing more custom sheet metal in the shop with a wide variety of products to offer in various materials.

"I’m going into my 11th year with Cartercraft Roofing, Inc. This company gave me an opportunity to develop a skill I would never have thought possible. I run the sheet metal shop and I'm proud to be a member of the Cartercraft family." - Jimmy Comeau

"What a pleasure it is to be a part of the Cartercraft family! Their dedication to customer satisfaction and expertise really makes for an exciting work experience. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me at Cartercraft Roofing, Inc!" - Cari Scott (Office Manager)

"I consider it an honor to do a family’s roof. It covers all that is important to them, their family and daily living or working environment, it’s their comfort zone, so I want it done as nicely as possible." Desma Carter (Vice President)

"After 30 years of being in business, I am still proud to be in the roofing industry. I am passionate about giving my customers a quality product. I enjoy the challenges the custom home builders and architects give us, and know we can give them the product they expect with the team I have behind me. I am also very excited to be expanding our sheet metal works in a new exciting direction. Desma and I are both very grateful to be here in this area, and to the clients through the years who have allowed us to roof their project. We have many repeat customers who we can’t really thank enough; we are honored to be their go to for their roofing needs." - Jamie Carter (President)
