As the area’s largest importer of bluefin tuna from Spain, Old Florida Fish House is honored to host two exceptional events that commemorate the ongoing relationship between the restaurant and one of the most established bluefin fisheries in Spain. Join in the fun on Saturday, November 18th for a Tuna Cutting Event at 1:30PM and Tuna Cutting Celebration Dinner at 6PM. Tuna-cutting masters, Pedro Rodriguez and Naoyuki Kukita, who hail from Cartagena in the Spanish region of Murcia, together have 40 years in the tuna industry.
Tuna Cutting Event
Featuring two veteran tuna-cutting masters from Spain, OFFH will host a Tuna Cutting Event at 1:30PM on Nov. 18th. El Ronqueo, the traditional ceremony from Spain will include the breakdown of an entire 500 pound Spanish Bluefin Tuna for sushi and sashami. Samples from the fish will be provided to attendees. Complementary Sake and Japanese beer samples will also be provided to attendees 21 and older.
This event is open to the public and free to attend, but preregistration is recommended to guarantee a seat. El Ronqueo Tuna Cutting Ceremony. Attendees wishing to enjoy guaranteed seating in the front, as well as additional tasting of tuna, sake, and wine may purchase VIP tickets for $20.
Tuna Cutting Celebration Dinner
Limited seats are available for a dinner and celebration at 6PM with tuna-cutting masters Rodriquez and Kukita. The dinner will feature specially prepared dishes from the bluefin tuna, as well as various Spanish wines.
