Walton County Coastal Dune Lakes Week October 13-19

The Walton County Board of County Commissioners has officially declared October 13-19, 2024, as Coastal Dune Lakes Week!

Did you know that Walton County is home to 15 incredible coastal dune lakes along our magnificent 26-mile coastline? Our unique lakes are globally rare and play a crucial role in our ecosystem. With their intermittent connection to the Gulf of Mexico, they provide vital habitats for fish and wildlife, making them essential to our local environment and economy.

To celebrate and educate everyone about our beautiful lakes, the Walton County Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board will be hosting a series of exciting activities throughout the week!
