Boukou Groove CD Release Party at Fire at Gulf Place November 8

Love funk, blues, jazz, art, and New Orleans-style cuisine? Don't miss Boukou Groove’s special release party for their new CD, “A Lil’ Boukou in Your Cup” at Fire at Gulf Place on Thursday, November 8 at 8pm.
A collaboration between founders, Boukou Groove guitarist Derwin “Big D” Perkins and singer, keyboardist, and Moog bass player Donnie Sundal, gather for a night celebrating their debut album. Also guest performing on drums is Jamison Ross, winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Drums Competition. Their sound intertwines New Orleans Funk and Soulful R&B with a Jam Band Twist.
During the past year while on tour throughout the U.S. they have shared the stage with guest performers Sam Bush, Morgan Freeman, Otis Clay, Junior Marvin (Bob Marley and the Wailers), Houseman Declouett (Galactic) and New Orleans drummers Terence Higgins (Warren Haynes, Dirty Dozen Brass Band), Jeffery “Jellybean” Alexander (Jon Cleary, Papa Grows Funk) and Raymond Weber (Dr.John, Harry Connick Jr).
Performances include 30A Songwriters Festival, Pier Park Summer Series – Panama City Beach, FL, Tin Roof – TN, The Shed, Funky Blues Shack –Destin, FL, Fitzgeralds - Chicago, Pisgah Brewery, N.C., The Old Crowe – Atlanta, GA, Howlin Wolf, d.b.a., Maple Leaf, –New Orleans, LA, Red Bar – Grayton Beach, FL.
The main event is free and open to the public. Fire will be featuring a special fixed-price bar menu of food and beverages with New Orleans flair. Local artists Heidi Pitre and Andy Saczynski will also be showcasing their work at the event. The team from VIE – People + Places magazine will be filming for a special documentary on Boukou Groove.
A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast's new Heart and Vascular Center.
