Savor South Walton Champion Awards at V Seagrove Oct 18

V Seagrove presents the 2nd Annual 30A Throwdown on Saturday Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. - a culinary competition of six local chefs in South Walton to benefit Global Fish Aid. Visit South Walton is honored to award this year’s set of “Savor South Walton” Champion Awards to the winning chefs and restaurants for both the Critic’s Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award at approximately 10 p.m.
The chefs will throw down and compete for the awards and bragging rights as the 2014 Savor South Walton Champions. Chef David Cunningham from V Seagrove, Chef Dan Vargo from Seagar's; Chef Chris Mack from Pandora's Steakhouse, Chef Todd Misner & Chef Steve Whithall from Stinky's Fish Camp, Chef Darek Tidwell from George's at Alys Beach, and Chef Chris Holbrook from Signature Catering will all compete for the Savor South Walton Champion Awards.
This year’s event is complimented with wine pairings donated by Republic National Distributing Company featuring wines such as Lamarca Prosecco, Martin Codax Albarino, Gallo Signature Series 2012 Russian River valley Chardonnay, MacMurray 2012 Central Coast Pinot Noir and more. Each wine will be paired with a different course from the competing chefs throughout the evening. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner beginning at 7 p.m.
Ticket price is $175 and includes dinner of small plates with wine pairings from the six competing chefs. Everyone in attendance at this year’s 30A Throwdown will be judge for the Savor South Walton Champion People’s Choice Award. In addition to the Savor South Walton Champion Awards, the winning chefs will also be presented art work from 2011 South Walton Artist of the Year Allison Wickey and local South Walton artist Cody Copeland.
