Here's a Completely Different and Fresh Way of Looking at Destin

He puts his excellent photos skills to work when traveling the world, and David Kosmos Smith spends quite a bit of time in South Walton so he had time to create one of our favorite videos of the area we've seen of Destin, the lucky little (fishing) village on the Gulf of Mexico.
He produced such a great video it's hard to believe it was his first attempt at stop-motion photography. He also used a tilt-shift effect so the the images would appear as if in a miniature beach fantasy land. The fun scenes and fast pace capture the spirit of Emerald Coast beaches and boating beautifully.
"I think my favorite shots are the single anchored boat and the woman sitting by herself on the pier," Smith said. "That lady looked a little down, and she definitely had some things on her mind, so it was kind of interesting to watch her sitting there."
Smith was born and raised in Atlanta, and has vacationed in Destin with his family for almost 30 years now. He now owns a bit of paradise just east of Destin in the SoWal town of Miramar Beach.
"In Atlanta, I owned and operated a restaurant and martini lounge for five years. Sold it in 2009 and picked up photography then," Smith said. "I've pretty much been obsessed with it ever since and decided to travel as much as possible over the last two years. I just got married three weeks ago and my wife and I plan on doing some more traveling soon before it's time to settle down and start another venture. I hope to get into the business of photography as well."
As far as we can tell from this video and his other work, Smith is well on his way to achieving his goals. What do you think?
