Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation Virtual Auction for COVID-19 Relief

May 27, 2020 by SoWal Staff

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), one of the nation’s premier fundraising organizations, is pleased to announce a special virtual auction benefiting children in need in Northwest Florida during a time of great uncertainty.

“Large gatherings may be currently suspended, but the needs of our 16 children’s charities are greater than ever before. We feel a strong sense of responsibility to find creative ways to continue supporting our charity partners and the important work they are doing for the children in our community,” DCWAF President John Russell said.

The virtual auction lot offers three couples three nights at the intimate and iconic Blackberry Farm in Tennessee, complete with a private jet generously donated by the Jumonville family. The Hawker 800 XPi boasts a full bar and crew and comfortably seats up to eight guests.

Bidding will go live through DCWAF’s mobile bidding platform, Greater Giving, on Wednesday, June 3 at 9am and will close at 4pm on Friday, June 5. The proceeds of the lot will benefit DCWAF’s 16 benefiting children’s charities in Northwest Florida. To participate, bidders are invited to visit https://dcwaf.ejoinme.org/virtualauction to register and begin bidding.

“High end travel experiences are a staple of the Destin Charity Wine Auction and have traditionally been popular with our patrons. With social distancing guidelines in place and the uncertainty surrounding traditional travel, our team has been challenged to find innovative ways to provide desirable experiences to our supporters that fit within our new normal,” Russell said. “Blackberry Farm is one of the top-rated destinations in the world, offering five-star amenities, limited occupancy, and the opportunity to truly unplug. Coupled with a private jet generously donated by the Jumonville family, our goal is to provide a travel experience that is both enjoyable and safe for our supporters.”

The 15th Annual Destin Charity Wine Auction, originally scheduled for April 24-25, has been rescheduled for August 21-22, 2020. Details on a new auction format will be released in the coming weeks. Patron packages are available at dcwaf.org/tickets.
