The Walton County School District has voted to place a referendum on the August ballot that will give voters the opportunity to change the way the school superintendent is chosen. Currently the position is an elected one, the referendum changes the Position to an appointed one based on experience, education, and qualifications.

Seacoast Collegiate High School would like to invite community members, friends, and prospective students and their families to attend a special Informational Night on Wednesday, March 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in rooms 119 and 120. During Informational Night, guests will learn more about the high school and student academic plans in honors, dual enrollment, and advanced placement coursework. Elam Stoltzfus joined me recently in the studio. In this podcast he tells us how he got his start into filmmaking and the visual arts beginning in a first-grade art class. His teacher, Mr. Brady, introduced the possibilities of creating amazing visuals on a blank white paper. From this experience he knew he wanted to be an artist.

Under the Florida Wildlife Commission’s Florida Black Bear Management Plan , approved in 2012, seven bear management units (BMUs) will be established throughout the state. The West Panhandle BMU, encompassing the counties of Escambia, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton, will be the first to be created.
