Get inspired! Get outdoors! Celebrate SoWal's best features during the 10th Annual Back To Nature Festival October 14-16, 2011, conducted each fall by the South Walton Community Council.

An absolutely stellar season of nine nationally touring Broadway and Artist shows will appear in 2011-12 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.

This season includes classic hits such as My Fair Lady, on November 29; Damn Yankees, on January 28; and Brigadoon on February 15; as well as new award-winning shows on national tour, including Monty Python’s Spamalot on February 24 and the Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein on May 10.

Bring together more than 100 domestic and international beers, 40 craft brewers, the charming Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort with beautiful October weather and you have a winning combination for fun in the sun at the Baytowne Beer Festival this October 21 and 22.

Known as the “Best Beer Fest on the Emerald Coast,” this popular event features on-site craft brewers, beer samplings, seminars and live music. Beer aficionados will be able to sample domestic and international options, including specialty, seasonal and not-yet-released beers.

For most of the local kids on Grayton Beach Sunday, it was just another day in paradise. And because of the sacrifices of so many to protect our amazing American freedoms, it was mostly that for their parents as well. Planned and unplanned gatherings happened all over the country on the 10th anniversary of September 11.

On August 27 at 6 p.m. Pandora’s in Grayton Beach will set the stage for a fun SoWal-sponsored party with live music provided by Bobby Moore and the Rhythm Aces. The event will feature live and silent auctions items with bidding on exotic trips to Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas and even a seven bedroom home in St. Barth for a week!

For the football fanatics, there will be a VIP package to the Alabama/LSU football game with seats in the ‘The ZONE’ and a pre-game, on-field tour by the University of Alabama athletic department.

Last night, Summer Kitchen Cafe in Rosemary Beach hosted dinner for families  with Lighthouse Family Retreat as they have done for many years. It was such a treat to be around happy families starting what is sure to be a memorable week in Rosemary Beach.

Childhood cancer impacts everyone in the family. Understandably, the child with cancer most often becomes the focus of concern, often leaving the siblings feeling lonely, insecure and left out. The Lighthouse program offers special attention for every member of the family – moms, dads, siblings, and the child with cancer.

It’s ten o’clock in the morning on the first Sunday in March. Scenic 30A is closed to traffic. There’s not a parking place to be found in Seaside.

Three thousands folks are milling around the Post Office. A band is playing in the amphitheatre. Folks are eating Jim N’ Nick’s Bar-B-Q and drinking beer for breakfast.
